Fun fact for Bible readers, the phrase “And the women said” found in Jeremiah 44:19, and many phrases like this, is not translated from the Greek or Hebrew but from the Peshitta, a document translated into the Syriac language in 200 AD FROM the original Hebrew and Greek writings of the Old and New Testaments. What’s amazing is how these documents and copies all confirm the same message of the Bible: That Jesus is the long anticipated, God in flesh, who was raised from the dead to pay for the sins of all who devote themselves to faith in Christ. This is an example of the Syriac language which I find really beautiful from an artists perspective.
